Demonstration Gardens

The Muddy Branch Alliance is a non-profit group whose mission is to promote the ecological well-being of The Muddy Branch stream, a tributary of the Potomac River. Understanding that sustainable landscape practices will support their goal, the group awards grants to organizations that install those practices on their properties. Gracefully Green has worked with the Alliance to assess grant projects and, if needed, supply technical expertise such as landscape designs to complete the projects. One of those projects included designing a conservation landscape and vegetable garden at Rachel Carson Elementary School. Kentlands Foundation GO GREEN Group worked with the Alliance to obtain funding for this project.
