Blooming Now

On Beach Drive, in Rock Creek Regional Park in Montgomery County, MD, you can see this brilliant red cardinal flower (Lobelia cardinalis), with some blue mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum) and common rush (Juncus effusus). These natives were strategically planted in a wet, partly shady space along the edge of the road, a good location for them. What a joy to come across these beautiful natives!
